ReplyDeleteI like how the Jumano boys put tattoos on there self. They lived around the Rio Grande which is in the basin and range region. They are a group that does not go to war as much as some of the other ones.

ReplyDeleteI liked how the jumano men shaved their heads except for the part in the middle, like the very top of their scalp, when they also put tattoos on themselves at that point. I wonder how they got tattoos, there was no parlor back then. they grew cotton most of the time to weeve and make clothes and blankets for at night. and morning and afternoon, you know what I mean , right?

DeleteRemember that these tribes didn't have a mall to go get "light weight" clothing for the hot Texas summers, and they had to make their own clothes. May seem gross to us now, but there are probably valid reasons they didn't wear clothing.

I think that it is soooooo gross is that they wore tattoos all over their body and were naked most of the time. It is also cool that their is so many different types of juanos like some of them lived in teepees and some of them lived in publo apartments.

I like them both because the men in the Plains tribe will shave their hair except for the top and when it grew longer they will tie a feather around it. Besides teepees the Puebloan tribe will build houses called pueblos, they are made of very big mud bricks. It is interesting because most tribes make teepees or something like that but no, they just made pueblos. And the feather in the hair thing is interesting because no other tribe does that plus it is kind of weird.- Leon
ReplyDeletel liked the Puebloan tribe better because they used dogs to carry trading goods to other tribes in Texas. They also followed the buffalo for food.

I enjoyed the article because all of the reading and thought that it was cool they lived in Mexico and New Mexico.Also I love pottery and the Jumanos made pottery to store seeds.I thought it was cool hat they followed the buffalo every where they went. DeleteThe Jumano made pottery and stored there seeds in there.I thought that was interesting because if other tribes came to steal there seeds they would not find them. The nomadic Jumano lived in teepees because they followed buffalo and had to move around quickly.What if the Jumano and an another tribe hunted the same tribe? Who would have to go and find another buffalo tribe?Would the Jumano hunt all the buffalo before the other tribe could hunt?-Valentina
ReplyDeleteThe Puebloan Jumno lived in pueblos. Also in the summer and spring the men were naked and in the winter and fall they wore a blanket.

The Jumano tribe got naked most of the time which is very disturbing for me, but the good this is they wore a blanket on winter and fall.

The Jumano tribe men shaved their heads except a place at the top of their heads, and put or tied a feather at the top similar to the Caddo. The weird fact was that the men of the Jumano tribe were naked in the summer, spring, and fall. But wore blanket in the winter.

ReplyDeleteThe two facts that I found interesting are that the Jumano lived by western Arizona . And there houses were called pueuebloan which are like apartment. And that liked to put tattoos there self. I think this is interesting because not many native American put tattoos on there self. And not many native American lived by western Arizona or in Pueuebloan.

I think the jumano indian tribe was intersting because they love tattoos and i also think they are cool because they also plant seeds and i like pumpkin seeds and there where two groups living in villages. I also like that they that they spoke a diffrent language called Twia i think it is cool and intersting because i never heard that language.
