Theme: January 20, 2015

Choose one of your favorite books that you've ever read. Write about the theme of that story, and what the theme meant to you.

Here is an example:
Book Title: Oh, the Places You'll Go!
Author: By: Dr. Seuss
Theme: Even though life will have its ups and downs, stay persistent and never give up!
What the theme meant to me: The main theme of this book really meant a lot to me; especially, since I just moved to Texas all by myself. Even though I miss my family sometimes, the opportunities moving to this new state are endless. I am so happy I followed my dreams!

*Now pick your own favorite theme from a book!

  2. book title: katie loves the kittens
    author: John Himmelman
    theme: to never give up
what the theme means to me: because Katie is always trying to play with the new kittens. and always gets in trouble by the owner and finds all these ways to play with them and never can until when the kittens sleep on her when she is sad. this means to me that you can keep trying to do it over and over again until you make it. ~ ronald

    1. Excellent response, Rachel! You're theme is specific to your topic, while not going into too much detail.

  4. Swim! Swim! by Lerch
    theme:" Don't judge a book by it's cover "
this theme means to me: the fish was looking for a friend, and he could not find one.
A cat came to him and called him lunch. He put him in another fish bowl. He gave him a friend, another fish, in the other fish bowl. The cat was happy to see his fish friend fall in love and live happily ever after. You would never have guessed that the cat was the good guy.
